Has how you define yourself changed over the past decade? How has the conflict impacted your sense of identity as a Syrian? How has the outpouring of Syrians from the country impacted your sense of connection to it and them?
These are but some of the questions Sharq.Org is posing as part of its ongoing research into the challenges and consequences of migration, in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Syria).
A series of recorded interviews conducted in 2021 with both Syrians inside Syria and those in different European countries will result in the production and publication of another Sharq.Org oral history collection. Previous collections within the framework of research on Syrians in the diaspora include ‘Stories of Belonging’ and ‘Peaceful Coexistence in the Diaspora’, from which a podcast series, animations and a book were born.
