Sharq.Org hosed a series of free to attend workshops in a variety of artistic disciplines in central Larnaca in 2022 in a bid to bring together and celebrate the diverse cultures that coexist in the Cypriot seaside city. Each workshop was hosted by an artist based in Cyprus, all of whom were invited following an open call.
Workshops in film, music, sculpture, and painting were run by artists Cindy Chehab, Nama Dama, Christos Drakos and Alia Corm respectively. The creative results of these workshops were showcased during the Come Together festival in November 2022 alongside two performance pieces produced by clownist Mo Awwad and Yasemin Collective and that reflect on the themes of conflict, migration, identity and belonging.
