“Lebanon Livelihoods – Economic Opportunities and Challenges for Palestinians and Lebanese in the Shadow of the Syrian Crisis”, a 2017 whitepaper written by Lorraine Charles for Sharq.Org, draws from the oral history collection ‘Lebanon Livelihoods’ as well as expertise shared by professionals during a round table session hosted by Sharq.Org.
The audio and video recorded interviews conducted by Sharq.Org and documented within the collection ‘Lebanon Livelihoods’ are accessible at ‘Tarikhi: A Platform of Arab World Voices.’ The collection contains personal accounts of challenges faced by Lebanese and Palestinians in relation to employment and entrepreneurship in Lebanon.
As part of the production and research process, Sharq.Org hosted a round table discussion with representations from UNRWA, ILO, UNDP, Synaps, Legal Agenda and IMCapital. The gathering facilitated a fruitful exchange of knowledge and research that helped strengthen the report.
