sharq.org story and advocacy specialist Reem Maghribi collaborated with UNFPA Lebanon to produce ReportingGBV.com, a bilingual digital platform offering guidance to those engaged in reporting and advocating against gender-based violence in all its forms.
the toolkit was produced in consultation with some of Lebanon’s most seasoned journalists, including Diana Moukalled, Saada Allaw and Maytham Kassir, and was the foundation for a series of practical workshops run by Reem and attended by dozens of junior and mid-career journalists. printed posters depicting key messages were delivered to newsrooms across the country.
within the scope of the same year-long UNFPA assignment, Reem ran interactive workshops with refugee youths to develop concepts and content for social media campaigns that address child marriage. all workshops focused on the need for storytelling and the importance of compassion and care when interviewing or addressing survivors of GBV.
