this collection of over fifty audio recorded stories told by Syrian (and some Iraqi) migrants in Europe sheds light on the experiences and factors that help nurture belonging among individuals displaced from their homeland.
audio recordings of the interviews (Arabic) and summaries of the stories (Arabic and English) shared have been published in a collection named Stories of Belonging in the Tarikhi story archive.
the stories have also been published in Arabic in a colourful book, a digital copy of which can be downloaded from our library of publications, and inspired a series of animations, in which the roles of food, art and neighbourliness in promoting belonging and wellbeing were highlighted.
